We as humans are too busy complaining about things that we don’t have or the things we wished. Everyone is more or less participating in the rat race, trying to earn more than before, trying to become successful and owning more stuff. The average human is trapped between the greed of taking more and fear of losing all. Not many appreciate what God has already blessed us with. Not many realise the fact of how fortunate we already are. Just take a look around yourself, what do you see? You’re holding a smartphone right now or may there’s a computer screen in front of you. There’s a fan above you or even an air conditioner. You’re wearing clothes and you’re stomach is full. You’re fortunate because you have all this. Close to have half of the world does not enjoy all these privileges. The day you’ll change your perspective and start seeing things differently, you’ll eventually start appreciating everything you’re blessed with.
In our previous articles, we have shown how dangerous earth can be and how quickly & easily it can destroy anything that comes in its way. Mother nature follows a simple rule i.e. if you fuck with it, it will definitely fuck you up.
Now coming back to the beauty, we are surrounded by flora and fauna. These two play a crucial role in maintaining the balance of our ecosystem. The biological state follows the basic positive and negative rule. There are floras which can save your life and there was one’s that can take away your life in seconds. Likewise, the same goes for the fauna. Some animals are harmless to humans. In fact, the entire fauna is harmless, when under threat, they attack only to protect themselves. You would be amazed to know that there are approx. 8.7 million discovered species of fauna on land and water. For this article, we’ve chosen one species of fauna which most feared across the world. Snake!
A snake can be defined as a long limbless reptile which has no eyelids, a little tail, and jaws that are gifted of significant extension. These creatures can be found in every corner of the world on each continent except Antarctica and in some lands of Ireland, Iceland and Greenland. Out of 3,500 species of snake discovered, there are 600 venomous species. Most species are nonvenomous and those that have venom use it principally to kill and pacify prey. Some possess venom effective enough to cause sore damage or demise of the humans. Nonvenomous snakes swallow their prey alive or kill by contraction.
Even after realising how dangerous snakes can be, yet some people are there who pet them. It is quite essential for every person to be aware of our surroundings, how to tackle threats and how to ensure safety. In order to educate you on the deadliest snakes that could be present around you right now, we have compiled a list for you (not in order):
King Cobra
Ophiophagus Hannah or as we better know it as the king cobra is the longest venomous snake in the world. Certainly, it's not called "the king" for nothing! From the front of its head to the tip of its tail, this snake can grow to be up to 18 feet long! Many people have overheard of this danger but know astonishingly very little about it. When exposed, the king cobra will lift a one-third of its body off of the surface, flash the flaps of extra skin around its head, and then attack the potential threat.
King cobras aren't bothered by the impression of feasting on other fellow snakes; in fact, it's their favourite diet! King Cobra’s bite transfers an incredible amount of paralysis-inducing neurotoxins. Its venom is so strong and so voluminous that it can kill an elephant in a matter of a few hours. Death also outcomes in at least 50 to 60 %of untreated human cases.
Black Mamba
Black Mamba is a brown snake with characteristic blue-black cores of their mouths. They reside on the African landmass and are considered the world's lethal serpent owing to a blend of their venom, swiftness, quickness, and violent nature. A black mamba can grow up to 14 feet long, while 8 feet is the normal length. They are among the world's fastest snakes and can achieve 12.5 mph while sliding.
Dissimilar to some other more aggressive snakes, the black mamba is essentially cautious. It chooses to escape threat but will rapidly become violent if it feels vulnerable. Each one of its bites carries nearly five times the deadly amount of venom for a full-grown human, and it typically strikes multiple times.
Eastern Brown Snake
The eastern brown snake is still determined a nuisance for farmers, notwithstanding acting as a sturdy form of pest control; feasting mainly unwelcomed rodents which scamper in peoples' homes.
It can be of any shade of brown, extending from tan to muddy to burnt orange. They vary in size from 3-4 feet the longest eastern brown snake ever identified was 6 feet long. Their front heads are tiny and hardly different from the rest of their bodies.
These snakes reside throughout Australia and in some portions of Papua New Guinea. They relish open lands such as bushes and woods where they can find something to eat and mix with the nearby terrain.
These are often bumped into unwary individuals, who end up with a horrible bite. These become violent when triggered by a probable danger, and turn themselves into characteristic 'S' shape well before attacking.
Tiger Snake
Tiger snakes reside in a diversity of surroundings but favour wetlands. This species began to have more interactions with us once we intruded its territory. Their food of choice is frogs, but they'll swallow down several other small faunas as well, such as rodents and birds.
The size of the tiger snake falls in size range between 3-5 feet long and resides in some of the most packed areas of Australia. Coming to its venom, it is life-threatening, and it will belligerently stance and pretend attack threats before ultimately biting.
They tend to be soft brown, olive-green, or grey with cream-coloured or pale-yellow tummies.
Many-Banded Krait
The Many-Banded Krait snake holds a dissimilar black-and-yellow or black-and-white striped appearance. Its stomach is light and white as well, and its head is tiny, even, and flat. Its size varies between 3-5 feet in length and on average it can get as long as 6 feet.
The venom of many-banded krait comprises a robust neurotoxin which can be deadly if it enters a victim's blood. These serpents are found mostly in subtropical areas and swamplands, existing typically on rodents and other small animals. Like many other snakes, they prefer to stay away from humans and are likely to bite only when threatened or provoked.
